When you grant location permission, the browser's Geolocation API provides location updates to the page. The current code calculates a trip-distance estimate in the browser and uses the speed value supplied by the browser when available. The page requests a reverse-geocoding lookup from OpenStreetMap Nominatim to show a nearby place name; that request includes latitude and longitude. The website's own code does not send every location update to a Speed Tracker application server, but the hosting/network layer and third-party services can process ordinary connection information. If you select “Save Current Stats”, top speed, trip distance and the save time are stored in this browser's local storage. Those saved values can remain after the tab is closed until browser site data is cleared.
When you visit a website, the hosting provider, content-delivery network and other infrastructure may process technical request data such as IP address, user-agent, request time, requested path and referrer for delivery, security and troubleshooting. The exact log fields and retention periods depend on the hosting provider and its configuration. The current tool uses browser local storage when you choose “Save Current Stats” to save the displayed top speed, trip distance and timestamp. The code does not need an account for this feature. Saved values stay in that browser until they are overwritten or you clear site data. The page also uses ordinary browser memory for live values while it is running. You can clear local storage and other site data through your browser settings.
The pages load Google AdSense code. Google and its partners may process information, use cookies or similar technologies, and personalize or measure advertising depending on visitor settings, location, consent and the applicable product configuration. The website operator must ensure that the consent mechanism and advertising settings match the regions served and the current Google requirements. Where Google requires a certified consent management platform, use one that meets the applicable requirements.
